Do you have a mission?

In art, and life, it can be challenging and confusing to know what kind of work to do if you don't know why you are doing work at all. What gets you up in the morning and fills you with excitement? What would you want to accomplish in life if there was just one big thing?

If you write a mission statement for your art practice, or even your life in general, decision making becomes easy. You simply choose the options that support your passion, your mission, over anything else. You can cut out distractions. A mission statement gives you clarity, and the power of focused energies; you can accomplish much more with the same amount of energy if it's all pointed in the same direction.
